Overly Alluring

Ms. Jay Morphea's alluring accomplice has always been an impeccably detailed and conscientious assistant.  From their time spent together, Ms. Morphea almost believed that she could trust this accomplice with her life, in a pinch.  But she had not become one of the most feared detectives in Fallen London by failing to make routine background checks.

The only problem is that shadowing her own accomplice is absurdly difficult.  The accomplice's skill and moving quietly is incredible, and she has never once brought any correspondence involving herself within eyesight of Ms. Morphea.

Finally, after an extremely long day of pointless trips to hat shops, scented candle vendors, and one or two attempts to throw her involving a large cat (wrestled to the ground) and three hansoms (double bait-and-switch hansom hop) Jay finally discovers where her accomplice goes on her days off.

It has been a long time since Ms. Morphea felt shock.  In manages to make a comeback when she sees her accomplice discreetly duck into the respectable townhouse of one Mr. Le Sieur.  It is quickly subsumed by adrenaline and wariness when a burly crowd of hoodlums surrounds her.   They make it clear that a detective of her caliber isn't necessarily welcome here and might wish to make herself scarce, or else possibly lose something important, such as her head.

While it has been a long time since Ms. Morphea felt shock, it has been a much longer time since she felt obligated to follow orders.  The fight goes well at first, but Mr. Darkness has a substantial number of employees, and almost certainly has offered them an equally substantial reward for her head.

Thankfully, Sasha felt like shadowing her 'owner' today.  The addition of a full-grown bengal tigress evens the fight greatly, and after a few more minutes the remaining hoodlums decide to save what is left of their skin.

The next time they meet, Ms. Morphea makes it clear that the accomplice is no longer welcome around any of her homes.  She takes some satisfaction in the fact that she sent her off with bleeding eyes and flaming hair.  It should take her a while to regain her old allure, at the very least.
